New Year Mountain Biking 2012

New Year mountain biking weekend in the stunning valley of Swaledale at Dales Bike Centre, the best UK Mountain Biking venue right here in the Yorkshire Dales
See in the New Year eating great food, indulging in scrummy cake, drinking great coffee'n'tea and maybe a beer or two.  All that along with 3 days of mountain biking to help burn it off!

Ride New Years Eve, New Years Day and the 2nd Jan, you could even hook up with our regular Friday Night Shop ride for a little extra riding! We've put together a 'nearly all in' package for the New Year weekend including bed, breakfast, evening meals, New Years Eve meal and bash, plenty of cakes, tea and coffee all that's left is beers and lunches.

About the area:
Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales is our home, Dales Bike Centre our base, no one knows the Yorkshire Dales like we do. The trails here offer the highest concentration of bridleways and mountain bike rideable trails anywhere in the Yorkshire Dales. Swaledale's natural trails drain well offering year round riding, very little mud to be found here! The Dale splits in two at the village of Reeth just up the road into the Dales of Arkengarthdale and Upper Swaledale. This opens up vast amounts of riding across moorland trails, singletrack, big up's and downs. We love and we're sure you will too.

Accommodation:
Dales Bike Centre in the tiny village of Fremington near Reeth in Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales. Our purpose built bike centre is set up for mountain bikers to have the most complete venue with all the facilities to ensure you have a fantastic time. Accommodation at Dales Bike Centre, a 4star rated hostel, is in very smart comfortable shared two and four bedded bunk rooms.  As well as accommodation we have a café, bike shop, workshop, secure bike store, bike wash, drying room, laundry, free wifi, kitchenette with tea & coffee and a fridge. All that and 24hour cake access!

New Year Weekend Program

Friday 30th:

Arrive at Dales Bike Centre afternoon/evening - Option to join in our regular Friday night ride setting off at 7pm for 2 hours riding the night (we've got a few sets of lights to use). Evening meal is buffet style.

New Years Eve:

Ride out from Dales Bike Centre, lunchtime stop and back to DBC. Ride will be 35km'ish 

New Years Eve Bash:

We'll have a feast of a homemade curry buffet, three courses and maybe even a drink or two! See how it goes and we could have a wander down to the pub just 200metres away then head back to see in the New Year

New Years Day:

We suspect a steady start, ride out from DBC and see how we're feeling. Distance 30km'ish or as much as you like.

New Years Day evening:

A dinner to warm you! Homemade in our kitchen. There's usually a fireworks display in Reeth the next village 10 minutes walk up the road, that and a beer will make for a grande night.

Monday 2nd Jan

Ride out from DBC, usually we make this a long morning ride 'so to speak'.  After late lunch clean up, get packed, bid farewell and hit the tarmac trail home.
