New Year MTB Weekend 2011

New Year mountain biking weekend here in Swaledale - riding the trails, having a few beers, eating great food, drinking great coffee with a great group of fellow riders. Come and join us for three days riding and see in the New Year at Dales Bike Centre.  

Ride New Years Eve, New Years Day and the 2nd January. New Years Eve meal and bash included in a weekend of mountain biking around Swaledale in the stunning Yorkshire Dales, based from our dedicated Dales Bike Centre.

About the area:
Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales is our home venue and no one knows the mountain biking like we do. The trails here offer the highest concentration of quality bridleways and mountain bike rideable trails anywhere in the Dales. Swaledale's natural trails drain well offering year round riding. The Dale splits in two at Reeth into the valleys of Arkengarthdale and Upper Swaledale. Both have superb single-track riding and moor land trails to keep you grinning and wanting to come back for more.

Accommodation:
Your weekend of riding is based from Dales Bike Centre in the tiny village of Fremington near Reeth in Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales. Our purpose built bike centre is set up for mountain bikers to have the most enjoyable weekend biking on offer. Accommodation at Dales Bike Centre, a 4star rated hostel is very comfortable and smart two and four bedded bunk rooms, upgrades to nearby B&B's are available.  At the Dales Bike Centre as well as accommodation we have a café, bike shop, workshop, secure bike store, bike wash, drying room, laundry and parking for you to use. Bike hire is available or why not try out one of our Trek, Cotic or Ibis demo bikes for the day or weekend.

You will find we know the best cafés, restaurants, pubs and hotels on hand to replenish your energy levels. At the end of each ride you'll be given a warm welcome back at Dales Bike Centre to enjoy coffee or tea and our very own homemade cake!

Typical New Year

Thursday 30th:

Arrive at Dales Bike Centre afternoon/evening - Meet up at the pub get-to-know-you session and introductions

New Years Eve:

Ride out from Dales Bike Centre, lunchtime café stop and back to DBC, maybe catch an hour of darkness for a lights ride! 35km'ish  (we've got a few sets of lights to hire)

New Years Eve Bash:

Here at Dales Bike Centre we'll have a feast of a homemade curry buffet, three courses and maybe even a drink or two! What a bout a trip to the pub and head back to see in the New Year

New Years Day:

We suspect a steady start, ride out from DBC and see how we're feeling. Distance 30km'ish or as much as you like.

New Years Day evening:

Dinner at our favourite local pub that have a fantastic menu, the type that has you aiming to head back there again and again.

Sunday 2nd:

Ride out from DBC. Lunchtime café stop and back to DBC for more homemade cake. Distance 25 - 30km. Farewells and depart.
