Womans Back to Basics Riding Skills Day

A one day mountain bike training course for women who are competent cyclists who wish to refresh their skills or acquire the skills to be able to venture off-road. The course would also be suitable for those already mountain biking wishing to refresh their riding skills. This carefully structured day program will introduce the basics of riding off-road and help you develop and improve your technique, skills and gain confidence.  This course is tutored by out very experienced guide and instructor Nicola Weaver, one of only a few Women's courses run by a women.

Course content:

  • Bike and equipment choice

  • Bike set-up

  • Gear selection

  • Body position / weight distribution / balance

  • Efficient Braking

  • Descending

  • Climbing

  • Basic Line Choice

Friday:

Optional Friday Mountain Bike Maintenance course

Saturday /am:

Sunday

Bike set up and safety checks. Developing core skills - gear selection, body position, braking.

Saturday / pm:

Sunday

Local trails developing techniques Descending - Climbing

followed by Brenda's homemade cake. Informal group evaluation.
